Seb Lester talk
Calligrapher Seb Lester came in to give a talk and presentation.
He talked about his life, how he got into art and how he had changed and developed as an artist, dead set on one career path and ending up been on a completely different one.
But the one thing that stood out for me during this talk and has somewhat inspired me is the dedication he puts into his work, not only does he do this as a profession but he is constantly practicing and developing his calligraphy in his spare time and looking at the end results this type of dedication to a subject area you love clearly pays off.

petite business card
This is the business card I made for the client.
I used Illustrator for this using one of my logos that I feel more closely relates to the simplistic feel the client has requested, I added a short description of the label and links and website links.

petite logos
these are the logos I prepared to show to the client, I loved doing these, I experimented a lot with different fonts and character spacing and shape, using the logos I had found in my research as influence, I feel this has boosted my experience with type and illustrator.
I prepared some in situ designs to produce to the client in photoshop I feel that this gives the logo a more proffessional feel and gives a good idea of what the brand will feel like in industry.

"petite" Fashion brief
Today I am working on a live brief.
The client has requested a logo design for her locally based label, the label is aimed at petite women. The brand will be trend-lead with a minimal and contemporary feel. I am left with the freedom of the brands name and logo design.

After collecting a variety of different women's clothing brand logos I have noticed that they are very simple and minimalistoc feel to them, this is something the client has asked for and will there for stick to it and use these as influence when creating my logos.

Photoshop editing
These are some quick photo edits I did after a photoshop session in Digital skills.
The session was all about levels, colour changes and layer masks, the photo on the left is the original and the photo on the right is the edited, I played around with levels to give it the over exposed look the lips and eyes were changed using a soft brush with the colour layer mask and the tattoos were brought out using the selection and burn tool, I love editing photo's I find the whole process of playing with colour levels and blending modes enjoyable, it is also something I like to do in my spare time and will take these skills into consideration for future projects.
